A Busy Month in Fifth Class

13th Oct 2025

September was a busy month for the fifth class pupils. We spent time at the start of the year getting to know each other, making new friends and catching up with old friends after a lovely Summer.

We learnt how to play chess, some of us were very good at it from last year and helped teach the children who didn't know how to play.

Fifth class joined senior infants on a lovely nature walk to the Glen with where we looked for all the signs of Autumn.

We had great fun in PE, playing team games, parachute games and much much more.

Our class also participated in a fifth class talent show and had several worthy winners in our class. The Ninja Boys won the Best Singing Category, Donnacha won the Best Individual Act and The Gymnastics Crew won both the Best Group Category and also the Best Overall Award. Everybody in our class performed in the talent show, from Hangman to Football quizzes, we really have a talented bunch of children in our class.

Several of our children made both the football and cross country teams and have lots to look forward to over the coming weeks and months.

We did some lovely art activities including water colour painting and art pieces celebrating our differences. We also did some great work on the chromebooks and are enjoying learning how to use new applications such as Book Creator.

We learn't about our new Bí Cineálta policy and how we are going to use restorative practice in school. It's very exciting.
We are looking forward to a brilliant year ahead.
